These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website housedesignzone.com (the "Site") and any renovation, design, or improvement services provided by House Design Zone LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Alaska ("House Design Zone," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing the Site or submitting any form on it, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

01.Services Overview

House Design Zone provides residential design-build services, including whole-home renovation, interior and exterior renovation, home improvement, 3D home design, and free written estimates. The specific scope, price, schedule, and warranty for any project are defined exclusively in a signed written contract between you and House Design Zone. Nothing on this Site constitutes a binding offer to perform work at any listed price.

02.Estimates and Pricing

• Estimates delivered through this Site are free, itemized, and valid for 60 days from the date issued, subject to site conditions remaining as described.
• Starting prices displayed on the Site (e.g., "$4,800 starting") are illustrative minimums for typical scopes and are not quotes.
• Fixed-price contracts cover only the signed scope of work. Changes requested by the client ("change orders") are performed only upon mutual written agreement and adjustment of price and schedule.
• Pre-existing or concealed conditions (e.g., hidden water damage, undocumented wiring, structural defects) discovered during work may require a written change order.

03.Quotes, Payments & Financing

Payment schedules, deposit amounts, progress payments, and accepted payment methods are set out in your project contract. Deposits are collected and held in accordance with applicable Alaska and state contractor regulations. Late payments may incur the finance charges stated in your contract and, where lawful, reasonable collection costs.

04.Workmanship Warranty

Projects carry a written 5-year workmanship warranty on installation labor, beginning at final acceptance, subject to the exclusions in the warranty document. Manufacturer warranties on materials and appliances apply per the manufacturer's terms, which we register on your behalf where offered. The warranty does not cover ordinary wear and tear, client-caused damage, third-party alterations, or failures arising from deferred maintenance.

05.Licensing, Permits & Insurance

House Design Zone maintains general contractor licensing, bonding, general liability insurance, and workers' compensation as required in each state we serve. Unless your contract states otherwise, we obtain and pay for all project permits and coordinate required inspections.

06.Client Responsibilities

You agree to: (a) provide accurate property information and safe, reasonable access to the work area during agreed hours; (b) secure pets and clear personal belongings from work zones; (c) make timely selections and approvals so the schedule can be maintained; and (d) make payments per the contract schedule. Delays caused by unmet client responsibilities may adjust the completion date and, where contractually provided, associated costs.

07.Intellectual Property

All Site content — text, photography, 3D renders, logos, and design — is owned by House Design Zone LLC or its licensors and protected by U.S. copyright law. Design concepts, renders, drawings, and plans prepared for a specific client are licensed to that client for their personal project use upon full payment and remain our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without prior written permission.

08.Website Use & Acceptable Conduct

• You agree to use the Site lawfully and to submit only accurate information in our forms.
• You may not scrape, probe, or attempt to disrupt the Site, submit spam or malicious code, or impersonate another person.
• Form submissions are processed by our servers and emailed to our team; do not send sensitive financial information (e.g., full card or account numbers) through Site forms.

09.Photography & Project Documentation

We document projects with progress photography. We will not publish exterior or interior images identifiable as your home, or your name, in our marketing without your prior written consent, which you may withdraw at any time by emailing info@housedesignzone.com.

10.Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) the Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied; (b) House Design Zone's total liability arising from the Site or any project is limited to the amount paid by you under the applicable contract; and (c) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of use or loss of value, except where such limitation is prohibited by state law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11.Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Project-specific disputes are handled first through good-faith negotiation, then through the mediation and, if necessary, arbitration or court procedures stated in your project contract. You retain any right to file a mechanic's-liability or licensing-board complaint provided by your state's law.

12.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless House Design Zone LLC, its members, employees, and crews from claims, damages, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or information you provide that is materially false, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or willful misconduct.

13.Force Majeure

Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, governmental orders, labor disputes, supply-chain failures, or extreme weather. Affected timelines are equitably extended and both parties will work in good faith to mitigate impact.

14.Termination of Site Access

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, at our discretion and without notice, if you violate these Terms or use the Site in a manner that threatens its security or availability.

15.Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date above shows the current version, and continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Signed project contracts are governed by the Terms and contract documents in effect when the contract was signed.

16.Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any signed project contract, constitute the entire agreement between you and House Design Zone regarding the Site and supersede prior understandings.
